Who we are

Bill specialises in habitat information management including the application of habitat and ecosystem service metrics in impact assessments. Bill leads our UK services. He is a former Trustee of the National Biodiversity Network and has led many site, county and regional habitat surveys and inventories for the Wildlife Trusts and Local Environmental Records Centres. He enjoys finding new ways of enabling fast and well-informed decisions on the interaction between people and the environment. For leisure he may be found mountain walking, tending his orchard, or touring the West Country on his e-bike.

Jo, an ecologist specialising in assessment of impacts on biodiversity and ecosystem services, leads eCountability’s overseas work. She has worked with a range of clients in the UK and overseas and is currently involved in a series of projects involving the restoration of habitats for purposes of biodiversity offsetting. Jo audits large infrastructure projects to review their compliance with International Finance Institution Performance Standards. Jo is co-chair of the Biodiversity and Ecology Section of the International Association for Impact Assessment and, when not on a plane or on site, manages to find time to look after her llamas and horses on the Blackdown Hills.

Alec is an environmentalist by training, gaining a BSc(Hons) in Environmental Pollution Science and a MSc in Environmental Monitoring. After leaving university his career led him to the information technology sector where he has been designing, building and delivering digital services for over 17 years. Alec is responsible for the management and delivery of our current technical services and is busy developing new ways to make use of biodiversity information. When he escapes from behind his computer he can usually be found volunteering with the local scout group, hiking up a mountain, riding down a single-track or paddling a river.
